Viola Jensen, 85


Viola Jensen of Kimball died Thursday, Feb. 20, 2003, from injuries received in a car accident in Litchfield. She was 85. Funeral services were held at 11 a.m. on Tuesday, Feb. 25, at Ostmark Lutheran Church in Forest City Township (Meeker County) with Rev. Marion Rova officiating. Burial followed in he church cemetery. Friends called from 4-8 p.m. on Monday, Feb. 24, at the Dingmann Funeral Care Chapel in Kimball, and one hour prior to the funeral on Tuesday at the church. A prayer service was held at the funeral chapel at 7:30 p.m. on Monday. Viola was born on Oct. 17, 1917, in Kingston Township (Meeker County) to August and Sophie (Marila) Hokkala. She married Clarence D. Jensen on Jan. 12, 1945. She lived in the Kimball area most of her life. She was a homemaker, farmed with her husband, and also worked 14 years at Fingerhut in St. Cloud. From 1984 until 2002, Viola and Clarence lived on Lake Francis in South Haven. They had recently moved to the new townhomes in Kimball. She was a member of Ostmark Lutheran Church and Johnson Kelly Auxiliary Post #483. She loved her family, cooking for family and friends, gardening and flowers. Viola was preceded in death by her son Alan, daughter Sharon Robinet and grandson Roger, and 10 brothers and sisters. She is survived by her sons Bryan (and Jean) Jensen of Madera, Calif., and Roger (and Sandra) Jensen of Hamel; sister Elona Hoem of Chicago; seven grandchildren and one great-granddaughter. Pallbearers were John Lekander, Arnold Sikkila, Laverne Lekander, Tom Obinger, Dale Marohn and Wallace Obinger. Organist for the funeral was Vicki Toutges. Arrangements were by Dingmann Funeral Care of Kimball.
