Weather: The thunderstorms that moved across Minnesota Saturday night into early Sunday brought some heavy rainfall to parts of Minnesota. Other parts of the state, however, received little rainfall.
One of those cities that hit the jackpot was Gluek in Chippewa County which received 7.70?Äù of rainfall.
Just northeast of Montevideo, once again in Chippewa County, received 4.70?Äù of rainfall.
Starbuck in Pope County reported 4.30?Äù of rainfall.
Alexandria received .59?Äù of rainfall. Most other locations across Central and West Central Minnesota received anywhere from a trace to a .50?Äù of rainfall.
Following all of the rain over the weekend fog was a problem late Sunday night into Monday morning due to the moisture and light winds.
Additional rain fell across parts of Minnesota on Monday as an area of low pressure drifted across the state on Monday morning and again Monday afternoon and evening. Some lingering rain was possible for Tuesday before high pressure will move back into Minnesota for Wednesday.
A more organized storm system will arrive on Thursday which could bring some strong storms and some heavy rainfall to much of Central and West Central Minnesota. Temperatures will climb into the lower 80s with dew points in the mid to upper 60s. This will be the fuel to trigger some storms on Thursday.
Another fairly strong storm is set to hit the Central Plains and Upper Midwest for Saturday that could bring heavy rainfall and strong storms once again!
Keep an eye on the weather this weekend!
