MSHS presents Spring Garden Gala ?Äì A Sneak Peek at New Plants for 2016

The Minnesota State Horticultural Society (MSHS), a 501(c)3 nonprofit organization, will hold the Spring Garden Gala luncheon and dinner fundraising events Friday, April 1, at the Vadnais Heights Commons in Vadnais Heights. They will feature a ?ÄúPlant Fashion Show?Äù presented by Bailey Nurseries and Monrovia, and will showcase new plants, from annuals to shrubs, that will be introduced to garden centers this spring. Guests will also have a chance to win or buy the plants. The events are fundraisers for MSHS programs that provide resources to gardeners throughout the region.

?ÄúThe Garden Gala promises to be a fantastic kickoff to spring where we give a sneak peek into new plants that will be available in stores this year,?Äù says Alec Charais, Director of Marketing for Bailey Nurseries. ?ÄúIf you love food, plants and great people, this is the event for you.?Äù

The luncheon and dinner will each feature a choice of entr?©es from a special menu catered by the Lake Elmo Inn, and the dinner event will include an expanded menu and a glass of wine. Gift bags, raffles, a wall of wine, silent and live auctions and door prizes at both events will add to the fun. Bobby Jensen and Laura Betker from KARE11 will be Masters of Ceremonies at the luncheon, and Dale and Ruth Bachman of Bachman?Äôs Inc., a local, family-owned garden business, will host the dinner.

This is the fourth annual MSHS spring event of its kind, and has become a ?Äúfirst sign of spring?Äù for many Minnesota gardeners. But this year has special significance for the organization, says MSHS CEO Rose Eggert. ?Äú2016 is our 150th Anniversary, and we hope everyone will join us to honor the past, present, and future of the Minnesota State Horticultural Society.?Äù
