Some snow is coming

Weather: We started off the week with low clouds and areas of fog. This was the same weather pattern that we dealt with over the weekend.

An area of low pressure pushed across parts of Minnesota Tuesday and will linger into Wednesday bringing with it some snow. The heaviest amounts were expected to fall across southern Minnesota on Tuesday where 5 to 8 inches of snow was expected.

Southern Minnesota was under winter storm warnings because of the heavy snow and near white-out conditions.

Smaller amounts of snow were expected on Tuesday into early Wednesday across central and west central Minnesota. Anywhere from 1 to 4 inches of snow will be common with a few isolated areas seeing up to 6 inches of snow by the time this system moves out by Wednesday.

Don?Äôt expect a great deal of sunshine once this system makes its way out of Minnesota, however. Look for a mostly cloudy sky for the midweek. At this stage, it looks like Friday will be the nicest day with a partly cloudy sky projected.

Temperatures will cool down a bit for much of the rest of the week and into the weekend, and fall to more seasonal temperatures.

Enjoy the last full week of January.
