Lorraine Stelton, 82


Lorraine Stelton of Watkins died Monday, Aug. 6, 2018, at the Hilltop Health Care Center in Watkins. She was 82.

Mass of Christian Burial will be at 11:30 a.m. Friday, Aug. 10, at the St. Anthony Church in Watkins. Visitation will be held two hours prior to the service at the church. Interment will be at a later date.

Lorraine Ann Stelton was born Oct. 9, 1935, in Maine Prairie Township to Gilbert and Hiltrude (Ophoven) Langer. She graduated from Kimball High School in 1953. She was united in marriage to Merlin Stelton May 22, 1954, at St. Anthony Church in Watkins. Lorraine lived in Georgia during Merlin’s military service for one-and-a-half years, then moved back home to take care of her mother. They lived in Inver Grove Heights for 26 years, and she worked at Crescent, which was sold to Kemps. They moved to Watkins in 2000. She was a member of St. Anthony Catholic Church. Lorraine enjoyed knitting, crocheting, embroidery, and crafts. She also enjoyed playing cards and electronic poker games.

Lorraine was preceded in death by her parents Gilbert and Hiltrude; son Keith; brother Merlin; and sister-in-law Rose Langer.

She is survived by her husband Merlin Stelton of Watkins; son Craig (and Sara) Stelton of Watkins, step-grandchildren Trisha, Abby and Ian; brothers Don Langer of St. Cloud, Gary (and Diane) Langer of Melrose, John (and Anna) Langer of Watkins, sisters-in-law Bev Dobis of Sauk Rapids, and Carol Lou (and Rich) Fuchs of Watkins.
