1000 Books Before Kindergarten
1,000 Books Before Kindergarten is a reading program designed to increase the awareness of early literacy and to encourage parents to embrace their role as their child’s first teacher. Plus there are prizes! This program is ongoing, so you can sign up anytime! No limit, please come to the library to register. Sponsored by the Kimball Lions Club and Great River Regional Library.
We’re Going on a Bear “Scavenger” Hunt at the Library
Visit the library during the month of November to hunt for “bears.” You may need to travel through long wavy grass and a swirling whirling snowstorm, but you’re not scared. For ages 3-13. Thursday, Nov. 1 through Nov. 30, during library open hours.
Golden retriever, Greta Louise and Alice the cockapoo love good books and can’t wait to be read to at the library. Ages 4 and up. From 3:30-4:30 p.m. Mondays, Nov. 5 and Dec. 3.
Get out of the cold and come into the library. A large felt board gingerbread house is waiting for you to decorate and redecorate during the cold month of December. For ages 3-13. Saturdays, Dec. 1 through 29, during library open hours.
Make and Take Holiday Gift
Decorate a holiday gift for someone special. All supplies will be provided, must be completed in the library. For ages 3-13. Limit 24. Starts Dec. 3, and continues while supplies last during library open hours.
Music in the Library with Angie Hoeft
Enjoy beautiful music from accomplished guitarist and local girl, Angie Hoeft, while you do your browsing in the library. A variety of styles and eras make for musical enjoyment. For all ages. A Legacy event. 5-6:30 p.m. Monday, Nov. 19.
Author Visit with Bob Kunkel
Join local author, Bob Kunkel as he speaks about his newly published book, Walking Point: A Vietnam Memoir followed by a book signing. Bob will have books available for purchase. For ages teen to adult. starts at 5:30 p.m. Monday, Nov. 26.
