Two cars were heading east on Highway 23 through Rockville Sunday morning, Nov. 25, when one of them passed the other from the left shoulder. An SUV, driven by Janene Willner, 46 of Richmond, had passed several vehicles from the left shoulder when the driver of one of those cars decided to follow her to take down her license plate number. Both vehicles ended in a parking lot near Crafts Direct in Waite Park when Willner pointed a gun at the other driver who left the area and called 911. Willner also called 911. The other driver was with her fiancé and her 4- and 8-year-old children.
An uncased 9mm Glock, loaded with 6 rounds, was found in the driver’s side door. Willner admitted that she had wrongfully passed a car on the left shoulder, and that she was frightened by the driver following her and brandished the gun to scare the other driver. Willner was arrested and taken to Stearns County Jail Sunday; her first court appearance was Tuesday morning this week.
