Local Farmers Fair to be held March 7

The Stearns County Soil and Water Conservation District (SWCD) is once again bringing a Farmers Fair to Central Minnesota Thursday, March 7, at Roadside Tavern in Roscoe, Minn., from 9:20 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. Registration will begin at 8 a.m. with welcome and opening remarks kicking off the program at 9:20 a.m. This is an all-day event, featuring important and relevant topics presented by hand-picked professionals. We will wrap up the day with a raffle drawing.

The Farmers Fair is designed to provide a lively, and interactive learning opportunity. There will be a Grandstand, where a variety of presenters will share their knowledge and expertise, a Midway full of vendors offering the most recent information on products and services, and room to socialize.

Topics will consist of: how to seek approval for tiling and ditching, climate condition trends and outlook, tiling and ditching with water resources in mind, Discovery Farm and tile monitoring results, the importance of organic matter and if cover crops can reduce nitrate leaching. Also hear from local farmers regarding their personal experiences, trials and tribulations when it comes to conservation minded farming.

The Farmers Fair is $10 per person for those who pre-
register (registration at the door will be $30 per person). The pre-registration deadline is Monday, Feb. 25. For your convenience, there are three ways to register:
