Kimball alum Mike Schultz has earned several shiny new medals in recent weeks, including a bronze and gold at the 2019 X Games last month, and another pair of bronze and gold earlier this month at World Cup in Big White.
Schultz won gold in Adapted Snow BikeCross at the X Games; this is the first year of that competition, and it’s a new sport for Schultz. A few days earlier, Schultz and Special Olympics athlete Christopher Purdue won bronze at the X Games in the Special Olympics Unified Snowboarding. Their combined best times on snowboard were less than a second behind the leaders.
At World Cup in Big White (Canada) earlier this month, Schultz competed among the top para snowboard cross athletes in the world. Schultz earned a bronze the first day, then a gold on the second day of competition.
