The 6th District American Legion Junior Auxiliary held its conference Saturday, March 23, at the Melrose legion post home. Honorary President Elizabeth Spoden, Unit 261 Kimball, called the meeting to order. Business was conducted, bingo was played and awards were given for various Poppy contests. The guest speaker was past 6th District President and current Sauk Centre ambulance EMT, Jessie Hoppe. She shared what it is like to be an EMT on call on calls. The girls were able to see various items in an EMT kit. They were able to ask questions and discuss the importance of when to call 911 and if you accidentally called 911 why you should stay on the line. This was very interesting for all the girls and adults in attendance.
Kimball Unit 261 was well represented, the following members were elected officers for the upcoming year:
Honorary Junior President, Brooke Mertens; 1st Vice President, Chloe Dragon; 2nd Vice President Elizabeth Spoden, Sergeant at Arms Shania Metens; appointed Secretary Piper Dragon, Historian Amber Mertens and Chaplain Amelia Zenzen.
Congratulations to all these young ladies on their accomplishments!!
