The 33rd Annual Students of Excellence Banquet and Recognition Ceremony was held Wednesday, April 24, at the River’s Edge Convention Center in
St. Cloud. As a crowd of 510 gathered prior to the event, students, parents and teachers greeted one another and visited about spring activities, upcoming graduation ceremonies, and college plans.
The evening was dedicated to honoring the top 140 high school seniors from 34 area high schools located in Region 7. The honorees were nominated by their school and received a plaque recognizing their accomplishment and included a certificate from Governor Walz. The Eden Valley-Watkins School District was represented by Anna Kahlstorf, Ashley Hansen, Kennedy Kleist, and Mitchell Utecht.
I would like to commend our Student of Excellence award winners for their achievement in the classroom, arts and co-curricular activities. They have demonstrated a passion for learning and dedication to their future successes. I’m hopeful that this recognition will encourage our EV-W honorees to strive for excellence and continually work towards their goals and dreams. I wish you all the best as you continue your education and future endeavors.
