Clippers outpower Express

Clippers take, keep lead

The Watkins Clippers hosted the Kimball Express Sunday,
May 12, for their home opener. With runs by Reese Jansen and Kevin Kramer in the third inning, another run by Carson Geislinger would cinch their victory. In front of a sparse Mother’s Day crowd, the Clippers would win the day, 3-0.

Dan Berg earned the win for the Clippers, pitching 70 strikes on 99 pitches during his seven innings on the mound. Matt Geislinger pitched the first two innings. Zach Dingmann is tagged with the loss, allowing 3 runs during his five innings on the mound. Matt Dingmann pitched three in relief.

Dan Berg hit a double and 1 RBI for the Clippers. Brendan Ashton and Kevin Kramer had 1 RBI apiece.

Kimball had four hits on the game, singles by Ben Johnson, Brian Marquardt, Zach Dingmann, and Michael Hoffman.

The Express will face the Dassel-Cokato Saints at 7:30 p.m. Friday, May 17, in Dassel. They will host the Pearl Lake Lakers Sunday, May 19, at 2 p.m.

The Watkins Clippers will host  the Cold Spring Rockies at 2 p.m Sunday, May 19.
