Kimball traveled to Maple Lake last Tuesday, April 30, to take on the Irish. The Irish jumped to an early 2-0 lead plating two runs in the first inning. Kimball answered with a crooked number adding three in the third. Maple Lake fought back with two in their half of the third leading to a 4-3 win.
Austin Schindler started on the hill for the Cubs. He pitched three innings allowing four runs with three being earned. Austin gave up five hits, struck out five and did not allow a walk.
At the plate the Cubs had two hits. Evan Powell and -Schindler collected the base knocks. -Schindler, Kaden Fruth and Carter Lommel scored the Kimball runs. Powell had two of the three rbi. Izaak Theis had the other run batted in for the Cubs with a beautiful safety squeeze bunt that gave the Cubs their short-lived lead.
