Share the Fun and Performing Arts Day


The 2019 Meeker County 4-H Share the Fun and Performing Arts Day was held Saturday, April 27, at the Kimball High School Cafetorium. The event was held in partnership with Stearns County 4-H. In all, 25 Performing Arts acts and four Share the Fun skits performed.

Share The Fun is a time for kids to share fun skits with their peers and adults while performing for an audience. The purposes of Share the Fun include building club rapport and unity, promoting 4-H, and providing recognition for the club. Many Meeker County 4-H’ers had a great opportunity to share their talents. The Meeker County 4-H Ambassadors did a fabulous job emceeing the event.

Share the Fun Awards were as follows:

• Champion – Valley Victors, “The Sound of 4-H”

• Reserve Champion – Dassel Lamplighters, “4-H Smallfoot”

• Honorable Mention – Kimball Kruisers, “Master Builder”

All three clubs have earned the opportunity to represent Meeker County 4-H at the 2019 Minnesota State Fair Share the Fun Showcase. Clubs will also have the opportunity to perform their acts during the Meeker County Fair.

Performing Arts allows youth the opportunity to showcase their talents, build self-confidence, and have fun! There was a wide variety of different performances including vocal, instrumental, and dance.

Performing Arts placings were as follows:

• Piano Intermediate Class Champion: Henry Lemke – Valley Victors, “Walking Jazz”

• Piano Intermediate Class Reserve Champion: Piper Anderson, “Pirate’s Tarantella”

• Piano Senior Class Champion: Greta Hulterstrum – Litchfield Satellites, “River Flows in You”

• Piano Senior Class Reserve Champion: Gretta Lemke – Valley Victors, “Sonatina in C Major”

• Vocal Beginner Class Champion: Elizabeth Donnay – Kimball Kruisers, “Tomorrow”

• Vocal Intermediate Class Champion: Piper Anderson – Koronis, Eager Beavers, “Wide Open Spaces”

• Vocal Intermediate Class Reserve Champion: Madelyn Groinus – Kimball Kruisers, “How Far I’ll Go”

• Other Act, Dance Intermediate Class Champion: Ellie Donnay – Kimball Kruisers, “What A Feeling”

• Overall Champion: Greta Hulterstrum, Piano – Litchfield Satellites, “River Flows in You”

• Overall Reserve Champion: Henry Lemke, Piano – Valley Victors, “Walking Jazz”
