Cubs swept by Eagles

The Kimball Cubs traveled to Eden Valley to take on the Eagles in a double-header last Tuesday afternoon, May 21.
In the first game, the Eagles jumped to a 3-0 lead in the first inning. The rest of the game it was all zeros as the Eagles defeated the Cubs for a 3-0 final.
Austin Schindler received the nod for the Cubs. Austin gave up three runs on four hits. He struck out six and walked three. The Cubs were only able to get one hit in the game, and that came from Kaden Fruth. Kimball also had two walks for a total of three baserunners in the game.
In game two, both teams were able to put more runs on the board. The Eagles scored five in the second inning, with all of them being unearned. Kimball answered with one of their own. EV-W plated three more runs in their half of the third inning. The Cubs would score four more but come up short losing 9-5 in their season finale.
Evan Powell took the hill for Kimball. Evan gave up nine runs, eight of them unearned. He allowed six hits, walked one, and struck out seven. Again the Cubs only collected one hit by Kaden Fruth. Hayden Kampa scored two of the five Cub runs. Kampa and Schindler each walked twice.
The Cubs ended their season with a 1-9 record overall.
