Brewers blank Hawks

The Hawks traveled to Luxemburg Sunday, June 9, to take on the Brewers. The Brew Crew defeated the Hawks, 8-0.

Starting pitcher for Luxemburg was Reed Pfannenstein who picked up the win pitching a total of seven innings. Pfannenstein allowed four hits, struck out eight, and gave up two walks. J.T. Harren pitched the final two innings allowing two hits, striking out three, and giving up two walks.

Leading hitters for Luxemburg were Sam Iten, going 2-for-5 including a double, and Logan Aleshire, going 3-for-5 with a double and three RBI.

Ben Arends was the pitcher of record for the Hawks, and he gets the loss pitching six innings, giving up six runs on eight hits with four strikeouts and allowing three walks. Nathan Geislinger pitched the final two innings allowing two runs on three hits, striking out four, and allowing one walk.

For the Hawks, Tanner Olean went 2-for-4, and Alex Geislinger was 2-for-3.

Luxemburg: 11 hits, 8 runs, 1 error and 9 LOB

Eden Valley: 6 hits, 0 runs, 1 error, and 12 LOB.

Next up the Hawks play at Cold Spring (Rockies) at 7:30 p.m. Friday, June 14, and the Hawks will host the Pearl Lake Lakers at
2 p.m. Sunday, June 16.
