At about 4:30 p.m. Saturday, July 6, a Chevy Equinox was going south on Wright County Road 2 when the driver Steven Wollenzien, 24 of Blaine, failed to stop at a stop sign and struck a second SUV that was heading west on Highway 55. The second vehicle was a Chevy Blazer driven by 66-year-old Roger Denne of South Haven.
Wollenzien’s passenger, 28-year-old Leah Medved of Blaine, was taken to Buffalo Hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.
Denne’s passengers Patricia Denne, 67 of West St. Paul, and Bonita Radi of Hugo, had minor injuries but did not seek treatment.
Both drivers were uninjured. All were wearing seatbelts, and alcohol was not considered to be a factor.
