50-year-old Fred Main of Buffalo was riding his motorcycle with a group of bikers for a memorial ride Saturday, Aug. 3. The group accelerated northbound on County Road 44 from a stop sign. A short distance later, the group began slowing down. While Main was braking, the brakes held and he began to skid causing the bike to go down. It slid for some distance and Main suffered minor injuries.
Numerous members from the ride helped with first aid and loading the motorcycle onto a trailer.
Annandale Fire Department was able to stabilize him until Mayo Ambulance arrived to transport him to the St. Cloud Hospital for further treatment.
Main was not wearing a helmet. Alcohol was not a factor in the crash.
