Cecilia “Cele” Becker of Watkins died Sunday, Aug. 11, 2019, at Hilltop Health Care Center in Watkins. She was 92.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday, Aug. 14, at St. Anthony Catholic Church in Watkins with interment in the St. Anthony Catholic Cemetery. Friends may call from 9-11 a.m. Wednesday at the St. Anthony Parish Center.
Cecelia “Cele” Becker was born Nov. 5, 1926, in Cold Spring to John and Elizabeth (Schneider) Fink. She grew up in Cold Spring, and she graduated from St. Boniface High School.
On Nov. 29, 1947, Cele was united in marriage to Floyd Becker at St. Stephens Catholic Church in Minneapolis. They lived in Watkins where Cele was a member of St. Anthony Catholic Church. She also was a member of the St. Anthony Council of Catholic Women and the Watkins American Legion Auxiliary Post #453.
Her hobbies included golfing and bowling. She enjoyed playing cards, dice games, and going to the casino. Cele also was an avid Twins fan, and she enjoyed watching college basketball. Most importantly, Cele enjoyed spending time with her family and friends.
Cele was preceded in death by her parents, husband Floyd, infant son Paul Joseph, son Charles, and son-in-law Larry Lieder.
She is survived by her daughters Carol Lieder of Cold Spring, Mary “Molly” Becker of Watkins, Jeanne (and Dean) Pearson of Watkins, Susan (and Jeff) Geislinger of Watkins, Petey (and John) Boeckmann of Watkins; daughter-in-law Katie Becker of Maple Grove; 10 grandchildren, 17 great-grandchildren, and one great-great-grandchild.
