Gladys Olson of Kimball died Sunday, Aug. 11, 2019, surrounded by her family, at Savanna Prairie in Kimball where she has lived the past 10 years.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, Aug. 17, at Kimball United Methodist Church with Pastor Ken Felska officiating. Burial will follow at Fairhaven Cemetery. Visitation will be from 9-11 a.m. Saturday at the church.
Gladys Marie Olson was born July 17, 1932, in Cedar Mills, Minn., to Anton H. and Cordelia E. (Dallmann) Fischer. She was united in marriage to Roger Olson, and four children were born from this union. Gladys lived most of her life in the Cokato area where she was a homemaker and worked various jobs. Gladys loved her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She loved the outdoors, animals, cranberry picking, working with seed corn, and harvest was her love in life. With her family, she was rich.
Gladys was preceded in death by her parents, brothers John (and wife LaVerne) Fischer, Fred Fischer, David (and wife Marge) Fischer, sister Frieda Hennessey, niece Susan Fischer, and niece-in-law Sue Hennessey.
She is survived by her four children Mary Lee (and Bruce) Leinonen of Annandale and their children Aaron, Hannah, and Mark (and Hannah); Nancy Olson of Cokato and her “fur babies” Mabel and Pearl; Doug Olson (and special friend Shannon) of Cokato and his son Travis (and Ashley) and their children Reed-Kinley, Cody, Maddie and Neenah; Leslie Ann (and Tim) Peglow of Kimball and their children Paige (and Ryan), Preston and Parker; sister Jean Best of Glenwood City, Wis.; and sister-in-law Helen Fischer of Glencoe.
Casket brearers will be grandsons Travis, Aaron, Mark, Cody, Preston and Parker. Honorary casket bearers will be granddaughters Hannah, Paige, Madeline and Neenah.
