Howl at the moon

Owls from the Raptor Center and night hike Saturday, Oct. 12

The University of Minnesota Raptor Center brings a live owl and a special appearance by an eagle to the Lake Maria State Park Trail Center at 5 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 12. We’ll also have some arts and crafts projects, followed by a short hike through the Lake Maria Woods to learn about what animals hear and see at night. Bring a flashlight! Refreshments will be served.

The program is free, but there is a $7 daily vehicle permit fee for those without an annual permit. Lake Maria State Park is located approximately seven miles northwest of Monticello, five miles north of Maple Lake, and 10 miles northeast of Annandale on Wright County Highway 111. For more information about directions and activities, call the park at (763) 878-2325.
