The Kimball School Board held their September meeting at
6 p.m. Wednesday, Sept. 18.
The annual audit was presented by a representative from BerganKDV, audit firm for the District. Community Education Director Celest Stang addressed the board regarding student employee wages and Cubs Club program concerns.
The board approved the consent agenda consisting of approval of the Aug. 14 board minutes, approval of payments, treasurer’s report, reinvestment of a CD, and acceptance of donations.
Building reports included Homecoming week activities at the elementary, Title I program, PBIS activity, Preschool advisory and PIE meetings, upcoming school pictures, grandparents’ day, and conferences. At the high school, pictures of the updated
6th grade/junior high commons, student engagement with programs and classes, Youth Apprenticeship signing day, and an unexpected fire alarm/drill were shared and explained.
Superintendent Widvey reported on enrollment trends, potential School Resource Officer, construction update, need for a garage for school vehicles, upcoming Strategic Plan activities, the publication of the North Star report, and the need for review of substitute pay rates.
The board approved the audit, certified the proposed 2019 payable 2020 levy, adopted the resolution designating officials with authority for MDE website systems, Form A Application to MSHSL, and authorized Mr. Widvey to move forward with the process leading to a potential bond issue. Two board policies were presented with updates; one new policy was presented.
