Alison Olson (10th grade) and Elle Geisligner, (11th grade) attend Eden Valley-Watkins High School. They started gymnastics at -Granite City Gymnastics in Waite Park, when they were
9-years-old. They have worked their way up through the levels in the Junior Olympic program and are now both level 9 gymnasts, with level 10 being the highest they could compete at. Both girls compete in the All-Around, which consists of vault, uneven bars, balance beam, and floor exercise routines.
Alison and Elle travel 40 minutes each way, five times a week to practice, with an average training time of 16 hours a week. Both girls do all of this, plus manage to find time to juggle homework, part-time jobs, track and field, and still have time for a social life.
These girls have shown great dedication to their team and are leaders at the gym. This year they will compete at local competitions throughout Minnesota, as well as attending a premier meet in -Florida this coming February.
Granite City is proud to call these girls, two of our own!
