American Education Week
The school district recognized our outstanding EV-W educators and celebrated numerous service awards during American Education Week Nov. 18-22. I would like to say “thank you” and commend the professional educators working tirelessly to support the academic needs of our EV-W kids. I’m amazed as I frequently witness staff providing emotional support, fostering independence, and routinely providing additional time, tutoring, and resources to complement student learning. These efforts cannot go unappreciated or unrecognized. Therefore, I write to personally thank the tremendous staff working for the Eden Valley-Watkins School District. I appreciate everything they do and the time invested in our children, schools, and community.
We recognized the following EV-W staff and their milestone years of serving students and the school-community:
• Connie Magedanz, elementary paraprofessional, 30 years of service
• Bruce Kiehn, high school principal, 30 years of service
• Karen Svihel-Buermann, elementary teacher, 20 years of service
• Rebecca Kuechle, high school special education teacher, 20 years
• Rob Pederson, elementary principal, 20 years of service
• Denise DeJuliannie, district technology coordinator, 15 years of service
Support Staff Recognition
It’s my pleasure to recognize the 8th Annual Support Staff recipients sponsored by Resource Training and Solutions at River’s Edge Center Wednesday, Nov. 20. I’d like to commend June Kahlstorf and Ray Schoenherr for their representation of Educational Excellence in the EV-W School District. This annual recognition banquet also provides us with the timely opportunity to recognize and honor all of the school support staff who continually go above and beyond their required duties, including our bus drivers, custodians and cleaners, buildings and grounds personnel, cooks, educational and media/technology support staff, and clerical support for their commitment and dedicated service to the students and staff of EV-W. Thank you!
On behalf of the EV-W school board and administration, I’d like to share our best wishes during this season of gratitude and giving thanks. We want to wish you a very Happy Thanksgiving and a heartfelt “Thank you,” for the contributions to our shared educational commitment to the EV-W students and communities. May your Thanksgiving be filled with gratitude, peace and love.
The EV-W School District would like to recognize Meryl Kuechle, daughter of Heidi and Randy. In addition to her successful academic record, Meryl enjoys the competition of school athletics and membership in numerous leadership activities. Following high school graduation, Meryl plans on pursuing a degree in the medical field as a surgical technician or sonographer. Her tenacious work ethic and ability to accomplish goals will keep her focused on academics and a successful path to the future. The EV-W administration, faculty and staff, are extremely proud of Meryl for her many accomplishments. Congratulations!
