Stearns County was honored this week as the 2019 Minnesota Counties Intergovernmental Trust (MCIT) County of the Year.
Each December MCIT honors the county that has set the standard of excellence in risk management and loss control. -Stearns County received this distinction in 2019. The county was also awarded for its aggressive efforts to educate and inform staff on techniques to mitigate exposures and its superior assistance when claims arise.
“Stearns County has earned this award because of its commitment to risk control and the active involvement of all county departments,” MCIT Board Chair Felix Schmiesing said.
Criteria used to identify the recipient include risk management, loss control, customer service, property/casualty claims and workers’ compensation claims.
