“Monster” Mike Schultz had audiences enthralled at Kimball Elementary School Friday, Jan. 31. Schultz and his wife Sara both graduated from Kimball, and their daughter is now a kindergartener there. Schultz has become quite an inspirational speaker, in addition to his athletic feats. He encourages everyone to put in the work to achieve goals, and believes that nothing is impossible with enough passion, drive, and hard work. Schultz indeed exemplifies this ethic. Accompanying Schultz on his visit were numerous gold medals, including the one he just won at the X Games in Aspen, and the one he won at the 2018 Paralympics in Korea. He also brought some of his prosthetic legs – legs that he designed himself so that he can enjoy a full and active life after he lost his left leg in a snowmobile racing accident 10 years ago. Congratulations to “Monster” Mike as he continues his 2019-20 competitive season. And thank you for being such a rich resource and inspiration in our community!
