Upcoming Fruit and Vegetable Grower Workshop

University of Minnesota Extension will be hosting a Fruit and Vegetable grower workshop focused on pests, diseases, and pollinators. This workshop will be offered four times over the course of two days at four different locations. Tuesday, April 7, in Little Falls and Alexandria, and Wednesday, April 8, in Litchfield and Buffalo.

The Little Falls session will be from 8:30-11:30 a.m. at the Little Falls City Hall Tuesday, April 7. The Alexandria session will be in the afternoon Tuesday, April 7, from 1:30-4:30 p.m. at the Douglas County Extension office. On Wednesday, April 8, they meet from 8:30-11:30 a.m. in Litchfield at the Meeker County Fairgrounds. The final session will be Wednesday, April 8, from 1:30-4:30 p.m. at the Wright County Highway department in Buffalo. The cost of the workshop is just $10.

Annie Klodd, Extension Educator – Fruit Production, will discuss the use of exclusion netting to deal with Spotted Wing Drosophila.

Natalie Hoidal, Extension Educator – Vegetable Production, will walk us through disease prevention.

University of Minnesota Apiculture Technician, Gary Reuter, will present on mutually beneficial habitats for pollinators and your vegetable or fruit fields.
