The Kimball School Board held their June 17, 2020, regular meeting beginning at 6:00 p.m. with members Becker, Helgeson, Schreiner, Waldorf, and Zipoy present. Member Davis participated remotely.
The board approved the consent agenda consisting of approval of the May 20th meeting minutes, approval of bills, treasurer’s report, and accepted donations. The Early Childhood Coordinator/School Readiness Teacher and Speech Language Pathologist contracts were approved for the upcoming school year.
High School Principal report included distance learning attendance, graduation, lending of technology, scholarships awarded, update on current facilities projects, and the summer school program.
The Elementary Principal report included pick-up and drop-off days, lending of technology, grading for distance learning, staffing is complete, summer school planned for August, and planning for fall.
Mr. Widvey reported on filing for three school board positions coming in July, fuel tank replacement project, gym floor project, summer mailer coming early July, summer school programs, CARES Act funding, MDE/MDH Family Survey out to families.
Action was taken on moving forward with plans for LTFM bonding for HVAC upgrades to both elementary and high school buildings, adopted the resolution to issue general obligation bonds to finance the HVAC project, and approved the 10-year plan to include the HVAC project. They approved the agreement with Stearns County to provide a School Liaison Officer for the upcoming school year, and the budget for 2020-2021 was adopted. Lastly, the resolution establishing dates for filing affidavits of candidacy was adopted.
