Cokato Museum exhibit gallery reopens


The Cokato Museum is thrilled to announce the opening of our exhibit gallery by appointment starting Tuesday, July 7.

Please keep in mind, specific Stay Safe MN guidelines, regarding COVID-19, are put into effect and will change your visitor experience. The following new procedures and guidelines that we have to implement are put in place to ensure the safety of our staff, volunteers, and patrons:.

• The museum will be open during our regular hours -Tuesday-Friday, 8:30 a.m.-4:30 p.m., and Saturday, 8:30 a.m.-
3 p.m.​

• If you are making a museum collection donation you will also need to make an appointment.

• The Gust Akerlund Photo Studio is closed to the public at this time.

• If you have a research request please call, mail, or email the Cokato Museum and our staff will assist you.

• The research library is also closed to the public at this time.

To set up an appointment or if you have questions, please call the Cokato Museum at ​(320) 286-2427.

• Maximum group size is eight people.

• Only self-guided tours at this time.

• Please limit your visit to no more than one hour.

• Staff will schedule time in between appointments to clean bathrooms and frequently touched surfaces.

Additional safety precautions

• Please stay home if you are feeling sick.

• Wearing masks is strongly encouraged.

• Please use hand sanitizer when entering the building.​

• Social distance (blue arrows on the floor are placed every six feet).

• Please adhere to directional and instructional signage.

• Only touch retail merchandise if there is an intent to purchase.

• Only two people (staff included) allowed in the office at a time.

Construction is also soon underway in Cokato on Highway 12 and around the museum. Keep in mind, there will be times where we will not be easily accessible due to construction. Please check out the museum’s website www.cokatomuseum.org regularly for updates.
