Pacesetter Sports Five-State “Midwest Madness” playoffs for youth basketball teams begin Feb. 24.

Top teams advance to Target Center in Minneapolis

The Pacesetter Five-state youth basketball playoffs will begin when teams in grades four-nine from Iowa, Minnesota, North Dakota, South Dakota, and Wisconsin enter qualifying tournaments in their own state. More than 1,000 teams will be playing.

Iowa teams will play off in two regions, Cedar Falls/Waterloo (North) Feb. 24-25, and Pella (South) March 3, to advance to the state tournament in Des Moines March 24-25.

David Kothe, 78


David Kothe, current mayor and resident of South Haven, died suddenly of a heart attack Sunday, Dec. 10, 2017. He was 78.

Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Friday, Dec. 15, at Concordia Lutheran Church in Fairhaven with Rev. Timothy Nerud officiating. Burial will follow at Riverside Cemetery near French Lake. Visitation will be held from 4-7 p.m. Thursday, at the Dingmann Funeral Care Chapel, Annandale, and one hour prior to the service Friday at the church. A prayer service will be held at 6:30 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home.
